About

Misha Volf is a designer and researcher who works across disciplines and media.

Taking the form of culturally informed encounters between persons, technologies, and spaces, the situations and strategies he devises strive towards a more meaningful, empathetically designed world.

As high in concept as it is in material presence, this work is built on intensive, design-led research, which, along with experiences and artifacts, often produces pieces for publication.

Whether designing a provocative meal experience which questions our relationship to animals' bodies and nature, a disruptive public-transport sticker campaign which takes aim at mass incarceration, or a household furniture object which transforms mundane and often invisible materials into stories about the beauty of infrastructure – Misha's design work narrates a world in which we are simultaneously actors, complicit perpetrators, and manipulated objects; a world, in other words, which, for better or worse, we build collectively.
